A Golden Rule For Your Social Marketing Campaign: Pay Attention!

The Social Marketing Campaign: Introduction

In the last three years, a solid social marketing campaign has become absolutely fundamental to the online success of a business in today’s cut-throat and over-crowded marketplace. In this context, ‘online success’ is measured by the amount of web users who are directed to a business’ website via the endeavors of their social marketing campaign as well as the number of these users that ultimately become paying customers. As such, a decent measure of online success takes time, patience and dogged determination. In social media marketing there are few short-cuts and even fewer overnight success stories. Thankfully, with the emergence of social media marketing as a powerful tool for brand communication there has risen an equally strong presence of online advertising firms that have the manpower, resources and expertise to put your business firmly on the virtual map, which saves you, the business owner, a whole lot of time and frustration!

Keeping an Eye on Your Social Marketing Campaign

Most modern business owners hire other people to manage the various departments that make the entire enterprise run like a well-oiled machine. They do this so that they don’t have to worry about the day-to-day running of the business, such as who keeps the pencils sharpened or who makes sure the books balance out. The same applies to your social marketing campaign. There has been a massive surge in the number of individuals and firms that are offering their online advertising services to business owners that don’t have the time, resources or expertise to manage their company’s own social marketing campaign. Since social media and networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter provide such important portals of communication between brand name and target audience; many business owners decide to hand their account over to an online marketing firm rather than miss out on exploiting this totally free advertising space.

Social Marketing Campaign: A Golden Rule

It is at this juncture that many people make a huge mistake. A golden rule you should apply to your business’ social marketing campaign is:

Never allow your marketing firm to post, create or air content that you yourself have not approved of first.

You may not need to plan, manage or implement a social marketing strategy yourself, but you absolutely need to keep an eye on what’s going on! Many social marketing firms generate content for their clients and this helps to bolster their rankings on local and global search engines such as Yahoo!, Google and MSN. Allowing this content to be posted without any quality controls or checks have landed many businesses knee-deep in you-know-what. A prime example of this would be Coca Cola who – without knowing it – allowed their social media firm to post a status update on some 14 year old girl’s Facebook page as part of a competition. Unfortunately, this particular status update happened to make some sort of pornographic reference. As accidental and oblique as this reference may have been, it succeeded in causing an incredible stir with the child’s parents baying for blood. Had the people at the helm of Coca Cola been keeping an eye on the activities of their social marketing campaign, this all could have been avoided. There is no excuse for corporate oversight: pay attention.

Social Marketing Campaign: A Final Note

If there is one other golden rule to be gleaned from this social marketing campaign story, it is this: learn from other people’s mistakes. Let Coca Cola take home the PR mess while you just take home the message.

Earn An Income For Work From Home Moms With Article Marketing

Day 2: Now THIS is what I call telecommuting...

Many families are struggling to make ends meet and moms who stay at home are looking for solutions without hiring a babysitter. The good news for them is that there are ways for mom to make some cash without sending the kids out of the home. It is possible for work from home moms to make a good income through article marketing.

The internet works by using different forms of advertising that brings customers to a web page. By using article marketing, a web page can get more hits through searches, which leads to more money. When there is no one to write these articles, a writer is brought in to do it.

Having the ability to hire someone who can do the writing such as work from home moms is beneficial. It is also great for the kids because they do not have to stay with strangers while she works outside of the home. There are many times when they will be napping, at school, or playing when mom can get her articles out.

Anyone who has basic writing skills and who knows speed typing can make very good money. Even those who only type forty or fifty words a minute can make a decent income and pump out a lot of articles in a day. The best benefit is that there are no babysitting costs when there is no need to leave the home to work.

For families who need to bring in some extra cash, writing for websites is a great source to do this. It is a great opportunity for work from home moms to be a viable contributor to the financial needs of the household. Finally, there is no need to hire outside babysitters who end up being paid the majority of money that is brought in from a second job.

How You Can Make Money On Ebay

How You Can Make Money On Ebay

How to make money on eBay.

Write an eye-catching title

The title or headline of your listing is the first thing people see so make it powerful and grab the reader’s attention. Include all the relevant keywords that potential buyers will be searching for. Nobody will look at your description if they can’t find it. Popular keywords include brand or manufacturer name, model, color, size, year, origin, material and condition. If you are uncertain which keywords to use search the sold listings for your product and see which ones sold best. What are the commonly used keywords in these listings? Avoid unnecessary words such as “excellent” and “cool” as buyers hardly ever use these type of words when searching for an item. Exclamation points, stars and other symbols should never be used – they look unprofessional and immediately show you up as a novice. You have up to 55 characters for your title – make good use of them.

Write a detailed and enticing product description

Your description should thoroughly inform the buyer and create excitement about the item. Put yourself in the buyer’s shoes and think about what you would like to know about the item before bidding. Include as much accurate physical detail about your item as you can. Try writing your description as though there are no pictures of the item available, this will help make sure you include all the necessary details. Then move on to the “appeal” part of your listing. What makes the item special? Write in a friendly and persuasive style as though you are talking to the bidder about the item. Write from the buyer’s perspective using words like you and your. Thispersonalizes the description and draws the reader in. At the end of your description you can include a Call to Action statement such as “Bid Now”, or “Don’t Miss Out…” to motivate the buyer to start bidding.

Include a professional-looking picture

If you want to make money on eBay you need to include a proper photo. Photos are essential to get the reader’s interest and gain their trust. Take photographs of your item from different angles, get photos of any unusual features and special markings etc. Include as many photos as necessary to get a full picture of the item.

Set your starting price correctly

Research what other similar products are selling for and set a realistic starting price. Setting the right starting price will positively impact on bidding activity. eBay sellers generally find that setting a low starting price helps get higher bids and higher sales prices.

State your selling policies clearly

When writing an auction description it is essential to very clearly spell out your selling policies – what type of payments do you accept, your shipping policy, returns and guarantees. The buyer wants to be fully informed.

Double check everything before you submit your listing. People who submit listings with spelling errors, poor grammar and sloppy writing do not make money on eBay. A professional looking listing creates the impression that the whole auction and selling process will be properly managed.

Global Domains International Scam

I get extremely tired of hearing about the so-called Global Domains International ScamIt’s simply not true.  If GDI was a scam, Marketers like Brian Bear Tissa Godavitarne, Mike Filsaime,  who are all GDI top earners,  would never endorse such a company.  The bottom line is Global Domains International is not a scam, could never be a scam nor would I be a part of any scam.  You can easily check for yourself by doing a google search for gdi, you will not find any negative remarks about the company.  I think that people know that GDI-Scam will hit big in the search engines simply because people want to know such a thing. This is why they write about it.  Then when you click on the story the person writing the post isn’t saying anything bad about it, they just want top rankings in the search engines. I can guarantee you that by reading this post you can rest assured that this company is one of the greatest affiliate marketing companies in the world and we are only getting better.  With awesome contests every so often, GDI stays in the forefront of companies to promote.  And by signing up just 5 members you will make a hundred dollars aside from your monthly residuals isn’t that great?  I love working with gdi and I will continue for many years to come.

Choosing A Website Name or Domain Name

Choosing a website name or domain name

When choosing a website name or domain name it is important to remember to take into consideration several things.  Most importantly is has the website name been keyword searched.  Meaning have you checked the popularity of the website name against the searches among search engine queries.  Most people like to include the website name in the domain name, it makes it that much more optimized for the search engines.  You can research  this by using what is called a “keyword tool”.  One popular keyword tool is the google keyword tool.  It is my personal favorite as it includes other important information that the others don’t.  This way you will have an idea as to how much competition your domain or website name has in the likeliness  that your website will be found on the first page of the search engine result for the names you have chosen

What is Affiliate Marketing?

This is one of the biggest questions in this era of affiliate marketing, and here, we will find out the answer in the simplest possible way.

Let’s start with the literal meaning of the word Affiliate.

A person or an organization which is officially associated with a larger business group is known as “Affiliate”.

Thus, Affiliate Marketing is a method of online marketing. Here, a person or organization which owns a website, promotes the products or services of another company via the internet, and in return earns commission. Thus these two entities get attached to each other and they both earn a profit by sharing the revenue.

How does it work?

It works through mutual understanding and cooperation. The publisher or The website owner places the advertisements of the merchant’s products or services on his website, and if the sale happens through these ads, the publisher gets some commissions.

For example: If you become an affiliate of a company, which sells books, you would have to put the links endorsing their books on your website, and if the company gets some potential buyers or if the sales are made through your link, then you would get commission, which could either be some percentage of the profit or a prefixed amount per sale.

So this is called Affiliate Marketing. When you become an affiliate, you are given a unique affiliate code by the company, which helps it in tracking the conversions.

The purpose of Affiliate Networks

Affiliate Networks are the platforms where publishers (affiliates) and merchants (companies) meet. These platforms help the affiliates, finding suitable programs for them and provide the companies with opportunities to search appropriate websites to endorse their products.

e-bay, click-bank, Amazon, commission junction and now jvzoo are some of the most popular affiliate networks or companies.

You can join these affiliate networks for free and can sell the products with zero investment by publishing just a link on your website.

For example: If you join ClickBank, you become a ClickBank affiliate and then you can sell a particular ClickBank product through your website or blog and earn a regular commission on each sale.

Affiliate Marketing- Types

Pay per Click or cost per click marketing: In this type of marketing, the traffic is directed to the company’s website through a link or ad on the affiliate’s website. Every time your placed ad is clicked by a customer that leads him to the company’s website, you will be paid.

Thus, PPC or CPC is a system of purchasing ads in which the affiliate gets money for every click on his link.

Pay per Sale: In this type of marketing the affiliate earns money on every sale which is made through his link or ad, placed on his website or blog.

Affiliate Marketing: advantages

Affiliate marketing is advantageous for both the affiliates and the merchants.

For the affiliates, it is the way of earning some extra revenue. If the product is suitable for their niche, they can earn some good commissions by just placing the ads on their sites. No promotions or selling is required on their part. So, there are no investments and only profits.

For the merchants, also the affiliate marketing is very beneficial, as their sale is increased on account of the advertisements of the affiliates. In this way they can attract more and more customers and they need to pay only when a sale is made. Thus their services or products get more exposure in the market.

Affiliate Marketing: disadvantages

Affiliate marketing can have some disadvantages also.

If an affiliate starts promoting a wrong product without enough research, it can affect the reputation of his blog or site adversely. Further, in some cases, it is also possible that the company, for which he is endorsing, doesn’t pay him the fixed commission. That’s why the affiliate should cautiously inquire about the product and the company before starting the advertisement.

The affiliate marketing can have negative effects on the merchant’s business also. If the website contains any objectionable materials, it can harm the merchant’s credibility. Furthermore, the profits have to be shared with the third party, this is also somewhat negative.
